Quality Control
What is Quality Control?
Quality control is a critical and foundational process in fabric production. Without it, no garment can be considered truly complete or reliable. It’s not just about making good-looking clothing, it’s about creating comfortable, durable garments that meet customer expectations.
Purpose of Quality Control:
The fundamental purpose of quality control is to ensure consistent quality in garment manufacturing. The main objectives of quality control are:
• Ensuring broad compliance with the standards and expectations of buyers.
• Detecting and correcting defects in time during production.
• Establishing the factory’s credibility and reputation in Turkish and international markets.
• Reducing complaints and minimizing returns.
Role of a Quality Checker:
A quality checker plays a vital role in identifying errors during various stages of production, including fabric, stitching, printing, embroidery, washing, and finishing. This process is not just a routine task but requires analytical observation rather than machine-based execution. A quality checker must also be capable of identifying human errors based on their experience and promptly reporting them so corrections can be made on time. This person plays an essential role in maintaining product quality.
Importance of Quality Control in a Garment Manufacturing Company:
Quality control is not just a phase for a company like Ascension International, which is known for high-end fashion exports, but rather a long-term commitment. We consider quality control a continuous journey that helps us meet international standards.
• Our belief in sustainable fashion ensures that the product is not only aesthetically pleasing but also long-lasting.
• For us, raw materials are not just inputs but the foundation of satisfaction with the best standards.
• We strive to ensure that every fabric, whether cotton, polyester, or blended, is tested and verified thoroughly.
Stages and Process of Quality Control:
1. Raw Material Inspection: This includes checking the fabric’s fiber, quality, color, weight, and texture.
2. Production Stage Inspection: During this stage, quality checks are performed continuously at each step, such as embroidery, printing, dyeing, stitching, etc., to maintain consistency.
3. Pre-Final Inspection: Before final packing, all garments are rechecked to ensure no defective product moves forward.
4. Final Quality Control Report: A complete report is prepared that summarizes whether all the quality standards have been met. Based on this report, shipment approval is granted.
